Background
John C Taylor approached Alban Cases to design several bespoke wooden cases to hold the components for a large clock for an exhibition in Shanghai. As this case was due for export, they needed to conform to ISPM15.
Unable to manufacture the cases themselves they approached Alban Cases for advice on packaging such a delicate piece of equipment.
Client Proposal
Following an onsite meeting to view the product and to discuss the packaging with their team we provided a quote for manufacturing and packing the equipment in site in the IOM, ready for shipping. As well as offering a packaging service we also introduced Alban Shipping to John C Taylor and provided a door to door quote for airfreight and insurance to the Shanghai and return.
Solution
Our proposal with John C Taylor was talked through and accepted taking on board the additional requests from John C Taylor and the manufacture began.
The equipment was packed on site by our team and shipped to the UK for testing and after a short period, re packed into its original crates for airfreight to Shanghai and returned back to John C Taylor UK safely after exhibition.
Client Feedback
“The project was transportation for exhibiting our Dragon Chronophage at the Shanghai Contemporary Art Exhibition and we required a logistic transport company that was willing to come on board early in the project to be part of our team. Alban Shipping worked closely with us reviewing proposals, advising and going the extra mile to meet the tight deliverable date. They even stepped in at the last minute to produce additional crates. In addition to manufacturing crates, Alban worked with the Shanghai handling & customs teams for both receipt and return of the items. We would like to thank everyone at Alban Shipping for their professionalism and assistance with that was a challenging project. The cases were excellent quality and met our specifications perfectly.”
